I wanted my first pic of 2011 to be good. :'D

I was in a horrible mood when I started this. I initially loved the visual concept of it. Plus I finally forced myself to practice on something I'd never drew before: fire, or in this case embers and a burnt landscape.

I think it turned out okay, for my first try.

The mood and atmosphere are spot-on perfect in this work! I love the composition and the burning ashes floating above the ground. Some of the ashes, or even the smoke itself, could have looked great if they would have been following the wind trail left by the character's movement.

Beautiful piece!
