I've usually always used a real photo as a background I find it very interesting, Not a lot of people do it, & it's always neat to see ur character in real life.

but I do enjoy looking at a hand drawn bg. Especially if they're full of detail. not everyone can draw a real nice bg. I think it's whatever u feel like doing.
